#BingeOverBreak: 10 Shows to Marathon During Winter Break

We absolutely love winter break. After working hard all semester long, a TV marathon on the couch is totally well-deserved – no judgement! Grab your favorite snack, curl up in a pair of sweats, and check out our top TV picks.

1. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

We have to admit, we were screaming internally when Netflix announced a Gilmore Girls revival. It’s set about 10 years after the original series, but you can still expect to see those classic Rory and Lorelei moments you fell in love with back when Rory was just a teen in Stars Hollow.

2. Jessica Jones

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is about an ex superhero who becomes a private investigator in order to fight the evil from her past. The Emmy winning series originally premiered its first season on Netflix about a year ago, so binge-watch it now before the next season!

Psst… we were lucky enough to interview the character’s creator, Brian Michael Bendis! Read here.

3. Friends

What a classic! If you haven’t already, we highly suggest a Netflix marathon of this beloved series. Between hilarious hangouts on the couch at Central Perk to crazy antics like Monica’s turkey headed fiasco, this show is truly #friendshipgoals.

4. Black Mirror

Get ready to have your mind blown. This Netflix series uses a concept similar to The Twilight Zone where each episode carries it’s own dramatic story line, all containing mind-boggling realities centered on technology. Not sure which episode to start with? “San Junipero” tends to be a favorite among viewers (Season 3, Episode 4).

5. Law & Order: SVU

This is criminal drama at its finest, and it’s still going strong after 18 seasons (is winter break even enough time?!). If you’re up for the challenge, you can stream a good chunk of the seasons on Netflix and Hulu.

6. Top Chef

There’s something so enticing about a good reality competition, and food is a topic we can basically all relate to. In the mood for a competitive culinary match? You can stream four of the 14 seasons on Hulu.

7. Stranger Things

It may only have one season so far, but Stranger Things has gotten some pretty phenomenal reviews. The Netflix series is a science fiction drama about a small town caught up in the mystery of a vanished boy and a streak of supernatural happenings.

8. Grey’s Anatomy

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll desperately try to find the Cristina to your Meredith. This popular medical drama is a classic, and it’s totally worth binging all 12 seasons on Netflix.

9. Master of None

Comedian Aziz Ansari sure knows how to make us laugh until our bellies hurt. In this Netflix series, Ansari portrays an actor named Dev who hilariously tries to navigate through adulthood in New York City.

10. American Horror Story

Fans of all things horrifying will love this anthology series, which is available on both Netflix and Hulu. With a seriously creepy resonance, suspenseful story lines, and notable names like Lady Gaga, you’ll get hooked instantly.
