When Tailgating Hits the Road

Whether or not your team is having a winning season, taking a road trip to an away game is always a fun adventure. To make the most of your limited space, pack the absolute road trip essentials and you will ensure your group has one great tailgate.

1.  No matter where you go to tailgate, you’ll want to have food and plenty of soda and water. Rather than bringing everything with you, try ordering sandwiches from a local deli and stopping by a grocery store to stock up on beverages before you get to the campus.

2.  Bringing a football or Frisbee with you will ensure you have something to occupy your time, as most tailgate activities take up a lot of space. You can also pack games such as Catch Phrase to involve a large group of people in the fun!

3.  Create a playlist for the car ride that can double as entertainment during the tailgating festivities. Include your school’s fight song and any of your crew’s favorites to add your flair to the list.

4.  Don’t be caught at an away-game without your own school’s spirit gear! Dress up your car or paint your face to let the opposing team know you are in it to win it.

5.  Last but not least, be sure you know the home team’s policy on tickets and how far in advance you need to reserve them. The last thing you want to do is drive all the way to a game you can’t get in to!
