The school year can be very stressful. You have a million different things on your plate between studying and extracurriculars. All that pressure can put a strain on your body. From sitting in a chair for hours at work or tension in your muscles from the stress of an exam, it’s important to take some time each to clear your head and unwind.
My escape is yoga because it refocuses my mind and physically relieves all the tension in my body. MindBodyGreen posted the top 5 reasons why yoga is great for college students. I can totally relate to this list so I decided to share a sneak peek with everyone!

At times, there is just so much on your mind that it becomes hard to focus. It happens…even to the best of us. Studies have shown that yoga improves concentration. In a yoga class you have to focus on your body and poses. Transfer these focusing strategies to class or studying and you’ll be amazed at your new concentration.
Yoga provides insta-community.
Yoga classes (or any sort of fitness group) are great places to meet new people. Making new friends will only provide more motivation!
