DIYs That Help You Save

Anything that can save us a few bucks is a winner in our book. After all, college students aren’t exactly rolling around in cash! Keeping the college budget in mind, we rounded up a few cost-friendly DIYs that you can try instead of blowing your money on pricey products.

DIY Febreze

Let’s admit it… Febreze is more than a necessity in college. Especially when your hamper starts piling up with some not-so-pleasant smelling clothing in your tiny dorm room… eek! Stocking up on this fabric refresher can add up, but creating your own will cost just pennies per bottle. We like this simple DIY version from Remove and Replace.

DIY All Purpose Cleaner

From dusting off your desk to cleaning up that coffee you spilled, keeping up with the cleaning products you need can get pricey! Fortunately, making your own all purpose cleaner won’t hurt your wallet at all. In fact, you probably already have the ingredients at home. Talk about a bang for your buck!

  • 2 Cups of Water
  • 1/2 Cup White Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Dish Soap
  • A few pinches of Baking Soda

Not a fan of the vinegar smell? Add some lemon juice or tea tree oil for a pleasant scent!

DIY Teeth Whitener

Flashing your pearly whites is the ultimate confidence booster, but teeth whiteners can leave a pretty scary dent in your wallet. This DIY teeth whitener from Body Unburdened only requires three simple ingredients!

DIY Makeup Remover

Cleansing oil makeup removers have recently emerged as a go-to among beauty gurus, but did you know that simply using coconut oil works just as well? Seriously, all you need is coconut oil and a a facial cloth or cotton pad!

*BONUS – Try using coconut oil instead of shaving cream as well. More savings? Heck yea!

We’re always looking for more ways to save! Have any more money-saving DIY ideas? Send them over to us in the comments below or on Twitter!
